Supporting our Neighbors and Community

In times like these, where we do not know what the future holds, it’s important to stick together. At Bank Michigan, we have held true to our mission; helping our community is what our team takes seriously. Our staff and directors live in the communities we serve, and we are here to support one another.

With an invisible viral enemy that has spread throughout the land, we have seen people suffer and businesses struggle and even close. It’s been heart-breaking to witness the turmoil this year. However, it has also brought to light how community banks like ours have stepped up to help their communities in need.

Bank Michigan was one of the few banks in the markets who accepted non-bank business customers to support with PPP loans when they couldn’t reach anyone at their current banks. Bank Michigan was able to not only support these businesses in need, but further illustrate the importance of choosing a local community bank.

In my years at Bank Michigan, I’ve never seen anything like this before. We just entered the Ann Arbor market this year, opening a new full-service branch there a week before the COVID shutdown. Yet, our bank was able to open new facility safely and still provide full financial services during this pandemic. Bank Michigan welcomed many new commercial accounts during the PPP process. Our bank actually provided more PPP support for noncustomers in its community than it did for its own customers.

I’m proud of our staff as they have worked diligently, learning a new market, understanding our customer needs and getting financial relief to our customers fast, so they could keep their own businesses open. We are honored to have been chosen by so many local businesses for PPP loans and we have welcome our many new customers to the Bank Michigan Family.

I invite you to connect with us for any financial needs or questions. Our staff would be happy to visit with you. We are on social media or you can reach us directly through our Contact Us page. We’re here and ready to step up when Main Street calls.
